KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: March 5, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for <br />the Bowers Field East Taxilane Pavement Rehabilitation <br />and Apron Reconfiguration project. <br />BACKGROUND: Pavement rehabilitation of the east taxilane and apron <br />area are identified as a priority need in the Bowers Field <br />Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The Bipartisan <br />Infrastructure Law as enacted in the Infrastructure <br />Investment and Jobs Act authorized additional allocation <br />for airport projects. Funding for pavement rehabilitation <br />work for Bowers Field project FAA/AIP No. 3-53-0026- <br />022-2023 was awarded. Funding requires a 10% match. <br />Match funds are available in the Airport Fund. <br />The project will involve pavement rehabilitation of the <br />east portion of Parallel Taxiway B, East General <br />Aviation Apron, and the East Taxilanes. Pavement <br />maintenance will consist of crack sealing for asphalt and <br />concrete pavements, application of seal coat, and two <br />applications of pavement markings. Also, the <br />reconfiguration of the East General Aviation Apron will <br />be included in this project. Construction is expected to <br />take up to 17 working days to complete all phases of the <br />project. <br />The engineers estimated range for construction is <br />$340,000.00 - $400,000.00. <br />Bids are scheduled to be received on March 28, 2024, at <br />10:00 am at the Public Works office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Call for Sealed Bids and <br />Advertise as requested for the Bowers Field East <br />Taxilane Pavement Rehabilitation and Apron <br />Reconfiguration project. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids. <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
