BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPEED ZONE AND THE PLACEMENT OF SPEED <br />LIMIT SIGNS ON NO.6 ROAD AND AMENDING SECTION 10.08.020 SPEED <br />LIMITS OF THE KITTITAS COUNTY CODE <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works recently conducted a speed study of No. <br />6 Road mile post (MP); (MP 0.00 to MP 1.02); and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm to hear public testimony regarding <br />the establishment of a 35 mile -per -hour (MPH) speed zone and placement <br />of speed limit signs on the above listed road; and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners have determined <br />that 35 MPH speed limit is appropriate speed limit for No. 6 Road from <br />Vantage Highway to Kittitas Highway (MP 0.00 to MP 1.02). <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the <br />public, does hereby establish a 35 MPH speed limit on No. 6 Road at MP <br />0.00 to MP 1.02 and authorizes the placement of speed limit signs at the <br />above stated locations and amends Kittitas County Code Section <br />10.08.020 as indicated in Exhibit A. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance will become effective upon the <br />installation of the appropriate signage. <br />ADOPTED this 6 h day of February 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
