<br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Information Technology “Study Session Staff Report”, 11/27/2023 <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT FOR <br />STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Information Technology <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: 11/27/2023 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Discussion of Backup Data Equipment Installation <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: No Action - Information Only <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Doug Fessler <br /> <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: IT has purchased and received new backup storage units and is <br />currently working with our attorneys to draft a resolution for Commissioner approval for <br />professional installation. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The county’s backup servers are reaching their storage capacity limits <br />and in dire need of expansion. IT has been in meetings with Ivoxy for options on fixing <br />its storage issue and the conclusion was to purchase Rubrik storage devices and have the <br />equipment installed by an Ivoxy professional. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: Ivoxy sent us a Statement of Work, which legal has reviewed and edited. <br />Those edits were accepted by Ivoxy. <br /> <br />According to our legal counsel, the IT Director does not have signature authority, so IT is <br />working with our legal team to draft a resolution for Commissioner approval on the <br />professional installation from Ivoxy with plans to present the resolution on the next <br />Commissioner agenda session on December 5th. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: The current CRIS fund balance will be used for this purchase that <br />was originally budgeted for in the ET Fund in 2024. These funds will be freed up next <br />year. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: None
