As part of the amended charter an annual report has been prepared
outlining long-range goals and accomplishments for the 2023 year.
DISCUSSION:
Bowers Field experienced a variety of changes during 2023. Administration of the airport
was moved to Public Works. This provided the availability of additional assets and
assistance from Public Works staff to support airport function. The FAA withdrew
discretionary funding for the proposed parallel taxiway. The long-standing issues of the
old pallet yard were mitigated by cleaning up the site with the assistance of Public Works
resources. This timely clean up took advantage of the inert landfill still being open,
reducing haul time of the material.
