KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM January 22, 2024 <br />Board members present: Vice Chairman Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner <br />Cory Wright. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Jessica <br />Miller, Community Development Services; Stephanie Hartung, <br />Prosecuting Attorney's Office; 1 members of the public. <br />At 1:30 PM Vice Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />No Citizen Comments. <br />SHORT TERM RENTAL COMMITTEE APPLICANTS <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on <br />applicants interested in being appointed to a Short Term Rental <br />Committee and stated he expects to receive input from the group and <br />be completed by June 2024. The Board would like equal representation <br />on the committee and decided on the committee make-up of 10 members <br />and 1 member from the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. Staff was <br />directed to bring forward enabling documents for formation. <br />2023 KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT- BOWERS FIELD REPORT <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the <br />2023 report including pallet mill clean-up, working on economic <br />development, and partnership with Central Washington University <br />Students to walk on the runway on Sunday mornings and remove foreign <br />objects on the lanes. Commissioner Cory Wright asked Brian McElroy, <br />Airport Advisory Committee Chair, to share his viewpoint on the <br />outlook for the Airport. Brian McElroy also stated Josh Fredrickson's <br />engagement with the committee is good. <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT STUDY SESSIONS <br />Josh requested the Board of County Commissioners consider amending <br />Kittitas County Code 2.4.010 to remove the monthly Airport Study <br />Session.
