The construction of all access points involving removal of existing vertical <br />curb or vertical curb and gutter shall meet the following requirements: <br />1. The new driveway must include a cement concrete driveway <br />approach that meets or exceeds the most current ADA accessibility guidelines <br />at the time of construction. <br />2. The existing curb, or curb and gutter, shall be saw cut at the limits <br />of work or removed to the nearest construction joint. <br />3. Existing street trees, streetlights, traffic signal facilities, utility poles, <br />and fire hydrants must be shown on any plan for access point construction in <br />an area of existing vertical curb. <br />4. Prior to commencing any necessary removal or relocation of any <br />public utilities, structures, trees, or plantings due to construction of an access <br />point, the applicant must secure approval from the person or persons having <br />ownership or control of such facilities or features. <br />J. The shared residential driveway shall lie within a minimum thirty-foot <br />easement. <br /> <br />K. The full width of the driveway and clear space shall be clear of obstructions <br />to a height of at least fourteen feet. <br /> <br />L. The minimum width of the improved driving surface shall be at least sixteen <br />feet for driveways greater than 150 feet as measured from centerline of the <br />connecting road. Driveways less than 150 feet as measured from centerline <br />of the connecting road shall be a minimum of twelve feet in width. In <br />addition two feet of clear space on either side shall be provided for either <br />case. <br /> <br />M. The minimum surfacing shall be six inches of compacted crushed surfacing <br />(either CSBC or CSTC) on a suitable subgrade, or 2” of HMA over 4” of <br />crushed surfacing (either CSBC or CSTC).
