4. Partnerships: List your key community partnerships for the proposed project and what
their role will be. (250 words max.)
The Cold Weather Shelter has operated for 9 years and is successful because of a wide
range of community partners and community volunteers. Primary partners are:
l(/MA, HopeSource, Ellensburg Police Department, Kittitas County Sheriff, and local
churches: primarily, First Christian, Foursquare, Liberty Bible, First Lutheran, Mercer
Creek, and United Methodist. Kittitas County Health Network and Oddfellows have also
provided past support.
Additional community resources already actively in place and with a strong history of
collaborating with the CWS include a consortium of providers for all aspects of physical,
mental, and emotional well-being. Examples are: Housing Authority, VASH for veterans
and Section 8 housing vouchers for qualified households; WorkSource with employment
specialists who provide employment search and preparation resources; the Social
Security SOAR program that assists in moving from disability to ability; Central Transit,
HopeSource Dial-A-Ride, The Apple and Grape Lines that provide transportation
services; Kittitas County Commissioners who provide funding for homeless and at-risk
individuals and families; Central Washington Disability Resources; FISH who offer food
and social support; Free Clinic Dental & Vision that provides access to medical
treatment; and Goodwill and the Methodist Clothing Bank for essential clothing and
household needs.
