BOARD OF' COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OT'KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - <br />REMOVING RET'ERENCES IN COUNTY CODE TO THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT AND CREATING TIIE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) has acted combining Community <br />Development Services Department and the Airport Department into the Public <br />Works Department; and <br />WHEREAS: References to the three county departments appear throughout county code; and <br />WHEREAS: The BoCC did conduct a public hearing on October 17,2023, receiving <br />testimony on staffls proposal recognizing department consolidations into a new <br />Public Services Department; and <br />WHEREAS: The proposed department consolidation creates operational and economic <br />efficiencies in the conduct ofcounty business; and <br />WHEREAS: Staff have provided the Information Technology Department with a redline and <br />clean copy of the amended county code eliminating code references to the Public <br />Works Department, Community Development Services Department, along with <br />the Airport Department; replacing said department references with the Public <br />Services Department. <br />NOW' THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the BoCC does hereby order county code be <br />revised eliminating references to the Public Works Department, Community <br />Development Services Department, the Airport Department and said departments <br />now be recognized as the Public Services Department. <br />ADOPTED this 7tr' day of November 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COLINTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />n Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br />n Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner
