2' Project Description Summary: Provide a brief summary the project being proposed and
a general description of how it will address homelessness or affordable housing in
Kittitas County. Be sure and indicate whether the proposal is intended to provide direct
client services or construction, maintenance, or improvement of housing facilities,
including a proposed timeline for completion. (300 words max.)
The proposal is to develop a 50 unit affordable housing project in the City of Cle Elum. The
units will be a mixture of 2 bedroom units and 1 bedroom units including flats and town homes
Unit set asides will be a mixture of 3O%AMl units and5Oo/o AMlunits. Approximate housing
costs for residents will range from 5427 to 57IZ for one bedrooms and SSr3 to Sg55 for two
bedrooms. These prices will normally increase over time typically 1o/o-2o/o annually. With the
median rent in Kittitas County being 5 j.,192.00, we do not expect any problems with filling
these units and expanding the County's ability to serve the Upper County low income
households for decades to come. The project will also be supported by HopeSource direct
assistance including; housing stability, food security, employment skill development, and
budgeting. Further, a source of Permanent Supportive Housing funds will be requested at a
future time to suppoert homeless persons without income.
5
