<br />October 25, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />KNIT <br />909 S 336th St, Suite 107 <br />Federal Way, WA 98003 <br /> <br />ATTN: Rhonda Gillogly <br /> <br /> <br />RE: Kittitas County Jail Renovations – Predesign Phase <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Rhonda: <br /> <br />Thank you for this opportunity to propose our Structural Engineering services for the Kittitas <br />County Jail Renovations Predesign Phase. <br /> <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Our scope of services and resulting fees are based on the following scope: <br /> <br />• Exterior/interior concrete panel cracking repairs, Recreation yard concrete wall crack <br />repairs, and Recreation yard floor cracking/leaking repairs. <br />o Review of existing drawings and site conditions to further investigate cause of <br />cracking. <br />o We will need access to the underside of the floor and roof structure at the <br />exterior/interior walls to view as built conditions/connections to assist in <br />establishing cause of cracking. <br />o Development of repair recommendations, such as crack sealing/injection and <br />concrete sealing/coating. <br />• Maximum of two site visits to observe existing conditions (one site visit in addition to <br />the site visit already performed). <br />• Review of existing drawings, particularly of the concrete panels and connections as <br />well as the recreation yard floor. <br />• Development of repair recommendations and structural pre-design narrative. This is <br />anticipated to be provided to the cost estimator for coordination with their work. <br />• Team coordination virtual meetings to discuss pre-design scope, narrative, and cost <br />estimate. <br />• Discuss design solution review/coordination with architect and owner through virtual <br />meetings and email review of progress documents. <br />• Structural drawings are not anticipated for pre-design phase.
