BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO.2023 - l <br />AUTHORIZING CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON REGIONAL FISHERIES <br />ENHANCEMENT GROUP FEDERAL FUNDNG LETTER OF SUPPORT <br />WHEREAS: The Washington State Legislature created the Regional Fisheries Enhancement <br />Group (RFEG) Program to involve local communities, volunteers, and <br />landowners in salmon recovery efforts; and <br />WHEREAS: The Mid -Columbia Fisheries Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group is the local <br />RFEG and conducts landowner outreach and implements water quality, habitat <br />improvement, and flood alleviation projects within Kittitas County; and <br />WHEREAS: The Mid -Columbia Fisheries Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group and the <br />Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District partner on projects that advance <br />mutual goals; and <br />WHEREAS: The Mid -Columbia Fisheries Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group has <br />requested Kittitas County sign a letter requesting federal funding support for the <br />RFEGs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Chair's signature on a Regional Fisheries <br />Enhancement Group Federal Funding Letter of Support. <br />DATED this 23rd day of October 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Cp)�.
