Please see the attached report, which provides the description for each of the
County-Wide and u nincorporated Kittitas County Mitigation I nitiatives.
4. Discuss why any objectives were not reached or why implementation is behind
schedule:
lmplementation is generally progressing well through normal Kittitas County work
programs, but tracking across all hazards and jurisdictions is hampered by a lack of
regularly scheduled steering committee meetings. We plan to address this deficit
during the Hazard Mitigation Plan update process.
5. What are the recommendations for new projects or revised recommendations?
This year Kittitas County initiated efforts to update our Hazard Mitigation Plan before
it expires on September 15, 2024. This update will consider new information that is
available (i.e., a regional air quality initiative in response to wildfire smoke, a
Community Wildlife Protection Plan amendment, and the Easton Reach Flood
Hazard Study). Additionallv, we have reached out to the City of Kittitas, who did not
participate in the 2019 update, to encourage this localjurisdiction to participate in the
2024 updale.
