14. Loadinq sDace requirements. <br />a. Every nonresidential building engaged in retail. rryholesale. manufacturing, or storage <br />activities, excluding self-service storage facilities. slrall provide loFding spaces in <br />accordance with the standards listed below: <br />Table 17.11.039(14)(a)(i) Loading space requirements for retail, wholesale, manufacturirrg. or storage <br />b. Every building enggged in hotel. office building. restaurant. hospital, auditorium. <br />convention hall, exhibition hall. sports arena/$Jpdiunr or other similar use shall provide <br />loading spaces in accorclance with the standards listed below: <br />Ta.-hle-'17.11.039(14XaXii) Loading space requ-ir:gnCnls for hotel, office building. restaurant, hospital, <br />auditorium. convention hall, exhibition hall. sports arena/stadium. or other similar uses, <br />c. For storefronts and other similar buildings sited adiacent to a street without individual <br />businesses ov-er 10,000 square feet and no alley access. loading soace may be provided by <br />on- strget desionated loading zorres upon approval of the public works and utilities <br />director as an administrative decision based on access and safeV considgations. A site <br />plan. proposed conditions, and reason for on-street loading facilities shall be included i[ <br />the application. <br />d. [ach loading space required by this section shall be a nrininrum of '10 feet wide, 30 feet <br />long. and ha-v:? an unobstructed vertical clearance of 14 feet six inches. and shall be <br />surfaced, iEproved and maintained as required by this chapter. Loading spaces shall be <br />located so that trucks shall not obstruct pedestrian or vehicle traffic movement or project <br />into any public right- of-way.
