BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - <br />AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE COOKE CANYON ROAD BRIDGE #80181 <br />REPLACEMENT PROJECT (CRP 315-22) AND AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY <br />ENGINEER TO EXECUTE THE SAME <br />WHEREAS: The call for sealed bids supporting the Cooke Canyon Road Bridge #80181 <br />Replacement Project (CRP 315-22) was authorized by the Kittitas County Board <br />of Commissioners on August 15, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited bids in accordance with RCW <br />36.77.020 Contract Procedures; and <br />WHEREAS: Sealed bids were received and opened on September 7, 2023, at 10:00 am; and <br />WHEREAS: There were seven (7) responsive bids received for review; and <br />WHEREAS: The lowest responsive bid was from Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc. in the <br />amount of $1,347,370.00; and <br />WHEREAS: The County Engineer recommends the lowest responsive bid be accepted; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners finds it in <br />the best interest of the County to award the Contract for the Cooke Canyon Road <br />Bridge 980181 Replacement Project to Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc.; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer is authorized to sign contract <br />documents for said project. <br />DATED on this 19th day of September 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />HITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
