BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - <br />VACATING A PORTION OF 13t STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY IN EASTON <br />WHEREAS: Washington State contemplates the need for Counties to vacate roads and right- <br />of-way at Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapter 36.87; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Code (KCC) mirrors the requirements for road and right-of-way <br />vacation at KCC 12.22.040; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works received a request to vacate a portion of the 1 s` <br />Street right-of-way identified on Plat of South Easton on July 19, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has completed the required vacation report <br />(RCW 36.87.040) at KCC 12.22.040; and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners did hold the required public <br />hearing considering the right-of-way vacation request on September 19, 2023. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the vacation of right-of-way of a portion of 1 s` <br />Street located in Plat of South Easton (attached) and directs the County Engineer to update (as <br />pertinent) the County Road Log and other documents associated with the rights -of -way vacation. <br />DATED this 19`i day of September 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
