Research and Discovery: Visitor Surveys <br />Visitor Surveys <br />An online visitor survey was emailecl to approximately 6,800 peopie who had attended an Ellensburgevent or received a tourism e-newsletter from the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. of these, 52 j. <br />people responded. lt is importantto note that the email list was weighted toward event ticket holders(77%)'ll also included Ellensburg residents. The answers of Eliensbuig resident were suppressed inreporting results, The event-attendee responses were compared to non-event visitors and littledistinction was found between the responses. <br />Lea rnings <br />The survey provides a window into who visits Ellensburg for what reasons, and how they perceive thetown and its surroundings' This provides guidance into target audience profiles and mesiagingior thetourism plan. <br />Who visits Ellensburg? <br />o 45-65+ years old. Based on the survey responses, the Age <br />most likely visitor is well-settled in their career, families <br />and life. <br />Western Washington residents. More than 57 percent <br />of respondents were from Western Washington - 29 <br />percent came from King County alone. <br />Upper Middle Class. More than 50 percent of <br />respondents said their household incomes were <br />$1OO,OOO or more. Western Washington respondents <br />reported more people in the S150,000+ category than <br />other groups.
