KITTITAS COUNTY <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />2023 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: July 10, 2023 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution <br />of an Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and <br />Kittitas County Conservation District for Continuing <br />Implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program <br />BACKGROUND: In 2011, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners <br />approved an ordinance electing to participate in the Voluntary <br />Stewardship Program. This ordinance elected to have Kittitas <br />County proceed with implementation of the requirements of <br />the Voluntary Stewardship Program once the Washington <br />State Legislature provides adequate funding for such activity. <br />The Washington State Legislature has appropriated Voluntary <br />Stewardship funds for the 2023-2025 budget for continued <br />implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. <br />Kittitas County's current Interlocal Agreement with Kittitas <br />County Conservation District expired on June 30, 2023, and <br />the current agreement will begin on July 1, 2023, and end on <br />June 30, 2025. This will allow for continued implementation <br />of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. <br />The proposed Interlocal Agreement received legal review and <br />approval from the Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's <br />Office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Kittitas County <br />Conservation District <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and Kittitas <br />County Conservation District for Continuing Implementation <br />of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. <br />HANDLING: Return two originals to Public Works to receive signatures <br />from Washington State Conservation Commission. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Interlocal Agreement. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
