A criminal history and background check will be performed on qualified applicants. Convictions may <br />preclude candidates from employment in certain circumstances. Factors such as relativity to the <br />position, age and time of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, and rehabilitation will be <br />taken into account. <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES <br />• Knowledge of real estate appraisal processes. <br />• Knowledge of real and personal property valuation methods. <br />• Understanding of Hearings Examiner procedures and processes. <br />• Ability to follow complex oral and written arguments and identify issues. <br />• Ability to communicate complex topics effectively both verbally and in writing. <br />• Exercise courtesy, discretion, and tact in the face of hostility and dispute. <br />• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County and other agency <br />personnel, as well as the public. <br />o Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, and ability to quickly learn other <br />programs specific to the position/department. <br />PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />• Previous experience as a Hearings Examiner. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS <br />Work is generally performed in a standard office setting. Must have ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, <br />kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, grasp, and reach with arms and legs. Must have ability to lift, push, pull, or move <br />up to 25 lbs. and occasionally higher with assistance. Must have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, <br />depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to read printed materials, computer screens, and <br />monitors. Must also have hearing and speech to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and by <br />radio. Safety rules and regulations must be followed, including use of PPE. <br />The work schedule is generally maintained during normal office hours, but may include early, evening or <br />weekend hours as required. Some travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings. Must be able to <br />operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions and levels of daylight. <br />Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
