COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 10:00 AM 7/11/2023 <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Cory Wright, Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz <br />Others Present: Barb Demory, Jamey Ayling, Chris Whitsett, Christopher Horner, Jeanne Killgore <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:00 AM. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (ONE MIN. TIME LIMIT) <br />None. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND LOCAL <br />792CH (COURTHOUSE) TO RECOGNIZE AND CLASSIFY COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST <br />HR Director Killgore presented an MOU between Kittitas County and Local 792CH to create the position of <br />Compliance Specialist. She explained that this position would support behavioral health court services in <br />District Court. Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve an MOU between Kittitas County and Local <br />792CH to recognize and classify the position of Compliance Specialist. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the <br />motion. Motion was approved; 3:0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND TEAMSTERS 760 (LINE) <br />TO MODIFY RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS <br />HR Director Killgore presented a Letter of Agreement between Kittitas County and Teamsters 760 (Line) to <br />allow Deputies to reside outside of Kittitas County as longs as they could respond to the Sheriff’s Office <br />within 60 minutes. Inspector Whitsett noted that this is both a recruitment and retention tool; allowing <br />employees to gain/retain employment with the Sheriff’s Office while also taking advantage of lower housing <br />prices in bordering counties. Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve a Letter of Agreement between <br />Kittitas County and Teamsters 760 (Line) to modify residency requirements. Commissioner Osiadacz <br />seconded the motion. Motion was approved; 3:0. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – CDS PLANNER STAFFING <br />Director Killgore summarized that the CDS Department is interested in recruiting a Long Range Planner to fill <br />one of their Planner vacancies. She explained that the Long Range Planner is a higher classification with a <br />higher wage range, but CDS has adequate funding through wage savings from other vacancies. The Board <br />provided direction to move forward with recruiting for a Long Range Planner. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – ELECTED OFFICIAL SALARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />The Board discussed details related to reactivating the Elected Official Salary Advisory Committee.
