SPACE ADJACENCIES <br />The space needs assessment was developed into <br />departmental space adjacency diagrams. These <br />diagrams illustration the proximity of departments to <br />each other throughout the building. This facilitates <br />the overall layout of the building. These diagrams <br />also indicated the advantages for a single shared <br />public secured entrance between the two separate <br />buildings of the Government Building and the <br />Courthouse. <br />LOWER DISTRICT COURT <br />There are two District Courtrooms on the same <br />floor as the Superior Courtrooms. They will be <br />similar to the Superior Courtrooms but have <br />less finishes and wood work throughout the <br />space on the walls. The millwork will be similar <br />in scale and detail. There is a 14 person jury <br />and seating for 50 public people. <br />Clerical staff area is an open office <br />configuration with amenities on the side <br />and offices adjacent for the chambers and <br />executives. <br />SUPERIOR COURT <br />There are two Superior Courtrooms with 13 <br />person juries and seating for 50 public people <br />in the gallery. There will be typical courtroom <br />millwork of solid wood veneer over particle <br />board or plywood that has a judge's bench, <br />clerk, witness. There will be tables for the <br />attorneys in the gallery with connection to <br />audio visual systems. The room will have two <br />staff exits to the back staff corridor and one <br />central public entrance. Inmates will enter <br />from a secure holding area between the two <br />courtrooms. <br />There is one ceremonial courtroom that will be <br />similar to the Superior Courtrooms but have <br />seating for 100 public people in the gallery. <br />This room will be on the first level under the <br />courtrooms and use the same inmate elevator <br />as the second floor courtrooms. <br />The three jury deliberation rooms are located <br />adjacent or in close proximity to each <br />courtrooms. <br />The In -Custody holding area will provide <br />holding between the Superior Courtrooms. <br />10 16DLRGROUP <br />JUVENILE COURT SERVICES <br />• This area is mostly office areas with area for <br />limited open offices. Spaces and offices should <br />have acoustic privacy (not confidentiality) and <br />full height walls to ensure conversations are <br />protected and offices are functional. <br />MISDEMEANANT PROBATION <br />• This area is mostly office areas with area for <br />limited open offices. Spaces and offices should <br />have acoustic privacy (not confidentiality) and <br />full height walls to ensure conversations are <br />protected and offices are functional. <br />CLERK <br />• Clerk will have windows to the public lobby that <br />should be protected for ballistics as standard, <br />typically at glazing. <br />• Stations will have an assortment of equipment <br />that requires to be plugged in and storage for <br />files and paperwork adjacent to their space. <br />• Secure exhibit storage will be used throughout <br />this area. <br />PROSECUTING ATTORNEY <br />There are four sections within the PA with a <br />manager and associated standard offices. <br />Open offices will be low wall cubicles. <br />Shared amenities such as work rooms and <br />storage etc. will be located to be accessible by <br />all sections within the department. <br />SHERIFF <br />• The Sheriff security office will manage the <br />overall security of the building, not be directly <br />related to future phases on the campus. <br />
