COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 10:00 AM 5/23/2023 <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz <br />Others Present: Darren Higashiyama, Christopher Whitsett, Julie Kjorsvik, Christopher Horner <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:00 AM. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (ONE MIN. TIME LIMIT) <br />None. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MOU BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND TEAMSTERS 760 (LINE) TO ADD PATROL <br />TACTICS INSTRUCTOR PAY <br />HR Director Killgore presented the Board with an MOU to allow a pay incentive for Patrol Tactics instructors. <br />Inspector Whitsett commented that the Sheriff’s Office has evaluated the patrol tactics program and found it <br />to be as valuable as their other training programs. Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve an MOU <br />between Kittitas County and Teamsters 760 (Line) to add Patrol Tactics instructor pay to the collective <br />bargaining agreement. Motion was passed; 2:0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MOU BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND TEAMSTERS 760 (LINE) TO MODIFY <br />RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS <br />Director Killgore tabled this topic, noting that the union has not yet approved and signed the MOU in <br />preparation for Board approval and signature. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MOU BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY AND LOCAL 792CH (COURTHOUSE) TO CORRECT <br />WAGE ERROR <br />Director Killgore summarized that last year the 7/01/2022 COLA for union staff was not applied to the Lead <br />Fiscal Analyst position. The requested MOU would acknowledge the error and correction to the employee’s <br />wage as well as the position’s wage scale. Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve an MOU between <br />Kittitas County and Local 792CH to acknowledge and correct the wage error. Commissioner Wachsmith <br />seconded the motion. Motion was passed; 2:0. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – FIRE MARSHAL RELOCATION STIPEND <br />Chief Deputy Higashiyama presented a request from the Sheriff to provide the new Fire Marshal with a one- <br />time relocation stipend of $5,000. The Board approved the request. <br /> <br />
