BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 2023-_______ <br />RESOLUTION TO DECLARE A BUILDING ON PARCEL 216833 AS SURPLUS TO <br />COUNTY NEEDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1999 the Sheriff of Kittitas County obtained by quit claim deed a <br />building on property at 102 Railroad Avenue Ellensburg for official use related to Search and <br />Rescue and other operations; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the building is a pole framed building located on property belonging to <br />BNSF Railway Company ; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the building has outlived its useful service life and its apparent value is <br />solely as scrap; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners agrees with the recommendation of <br />the Sheriff and Solid Waste Director to declared this parcel as surplus to county needs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has required that the purchaser be <br />responsible for removal of the building, its component parts, and any related items to the <br />satisfaction of BNFW Railway Company. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes, orders, and directs the Kittitas <br />County Treasurer to hold a public auction to sell the above described building. The Kittitas <br />County Treasurer is authorized to take whatever actions are needed to facilitate this sale. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board is hereby authorized to <br />advertise Notice of Sale by Public Auction to be held on ___________, 2023, at 1:00pm in the <br />Conference room. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this day of 2023. <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> _________________________________________ <br /> Chair <br /> <br /> _________________________________________
