Ohl <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve resolution to guarantee grant match funds for WSDOT grant application. <br /> <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />- For the upcoming 3 projects during 2023 at Bowers Field, WSDOT requires a <br />resolution confirming grant match availability. <br />- The grant application to WSDOT, if approved could reduce the grant match <br />requirement for Kittitas County from 10% to 5%. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Currently for the 3 upcoming projects in 2023 at Bowers Field, Kittitas County will have <br />to match federal funds at 10%. Working with our consultant JUB, we have applied for a <br />WSDOT grant, which if approved will reduce the match responsibility for the County to <br />5% which will reduce in half what the County will need to contribute for the airport <br />improvements. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />I recommend approving the resolution to guarantee grant match availability for the grant <br />application to WSDOT. Currently if the airport does not receive any WSDOT funding the <br />County will be responsible for $179,255 in grant match funds. If WSDOT approves the <br />5% grant match, that will reduce what the County is responsible for to $89,628. This will <br />result in savings of $89,627 of expended funds for Bowers Field to the County. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br /> <br />Approval of this resolution could result in a reduction of grant match funds expended by <br />the County. If approved by WSDOT, grant match funds will reduce from $179,255 to <br />$89,628. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS:
