9129122, 10:40 AM
Methodology
Narrative*
LTAC Clerk Review
Please explain.
NEW this year in 2022, WSSSM took advantage of QR codes being more popular
and has asked each visitor to fill out a "Visitor Survey" which asks zip code and
overnight stay info. This Representative Survey provided incredible information for
us', 12o/o of visitors are staying overnight in a hotel or Air B n B and another 60/o a,ta
staying overnight in a private home. Previous surveys had indicated 5% of guests
were staying overnight. Survey data also indicates that97% of visitors are from
outside Kittitas County. Previous estimates were that 90% were from outside the
county. Survey data indicates that 16% of visitors are from outside Washington
State.
Being a small museum, WSSSM hosts welcome each and every guest into the
museum and have a chance to chat and say hello. Volunteers are trained to count
each and every guest and are now asking zip code and if and where the person
has stayed overnight and what locations.
Attached is the QR code Visitor Survey and the WSSSM Operations Checklist
form that is used by our volunteers to track information about visitors.
We will also work with Suncadia, our new host hotel, to obtain detailed information
on heads in beds as a result of our in-person events for 2023.
The past actual used in this report are number from 2019, the last full year
WSSSM
was open. The attached report shows details of our visitor survey:
,2022 visitors are projected to be 5,500 or close to 2019 levels. We are currently
open 3 days per week (1 55 days per year) and in 2019 we were open 4 days per
week (208 days). Our average number of visitors per day has gone from 29 in
2019 to 36 in 2022.
. Projections for 2023 are up to 6,200 with a projected increase in visitors per day
to 40 and guest accommodation levels increased to 12oh from 5%. About 160/o are
projected to come from outside Washington State.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 5
8l Funding
Does your organization have, or have you applied for, grant funding from other sources? lf not, why not? lf yes, please
list the funding you have for the project, including any volunteer and in-kind sources in Question 9l Project Budget
Overview.
Funding sources and amounts which have not yet been secured will be listed separately, in the field(s) directly below.
Finally, what changes would occur if the project couldn't be funded?
lf-app-16-03.co.kittitas.wa.us/Forms/form/submission/history/77659/85470?hideHeader=true 15/19
