Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />Fire Marshal (509) 962-7000 Deputy Fire Marshal (509) 962-7657 <br />February 7,2023 <br />TO: Whom It May Concern <br />RE: Gran Fondo Special Event Application 6lll12023 <br />Fire and Life Safety Inspection - All non-residential projects, including special events, will receive an initial Fire and Life <br />Safety Inspection in order to acquire certificate of occupancy. Those same projects will receive qnnual Fire and Life Safety <br />Inspections eachyear after the initial inspection until the project has been rendered unused. For special events, the Fire and Life <br />Safety Inspectionwill take place 24-48 hours prior to the event and scheduled by the primary contactfor the event. These inspections <br />will comply with the International Fire Code (IFC), Kittitas County Code (KCC) qnd other applicable National Fire Protection <br />Ass ociation (N F P A) standar ds. <br />n Required <br />Comments: <br />Tents and/or Membrane Structures - All tent and/or membrane structures shall be temporary and comply with Chapter 3I, <br />Section 3103 ofthe IFC, qs well as other referenced codes and standurds therein. A permit shall be required. <br />! Required <br />Comments: <br />Special Event Structures - All structures erectedfor the purpose of a temporary event shall be temporary and comply with <br />Chapter 3 I , Section 3 I 05 of the IFC, as well as other referenced codes and stqndqrds therein. A permit shatl be required. <br />n Required <br />Comments: <br />Fire Extinguishers - Fire extinguishers are requiredfor every 75' of travel and must be mounted so thqt the top of the <br />extinguisher is no more thqn 4' above the floor. Fire extinguishers must be serviced annually by a third party inspector qnd be q <br />minimum of 4lbs and be of type l0:A 20:BC. <br />tr Required <br />Comments: <br />After reading the application in depth, the KCFMO does not see how this event would increase the risk of fire or other <br />emergencies. There are no temporary structures to erect, and the rest rooms seem to be minimal. Have a great ride.
