This MOU clearly identifies the roles and responsibilities of Comprehensive Healthcare and the Kittitas <br />County Sheriff's Office. <br />Duration <br />This MOU shall become effective upon signature by the duly authorized representatives of the Kittitas <br />County Sheriff's Office and Comprehensive Healthcare and will remain in effect for the duration of the <br />funding period for the BJA FY22 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program unless modified by <br />mutual consent and executed in writing by the authorized representatives of all parties. The MOU is at - <br />will and may be terminated by any party at any time upon written notice to the other party. <br />Funding <br />The necessary funding for this MOU comes from the BJA FY22 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration <br />Program grant budget that is approved. The required cost sharing requirement will be handled by the <br />Kittitas County Sheriff's Office through other contracts as needed. <br />Roles and Responsibilities <br />By agreeing to this MOU both parties involved understand that the BJA FY22 Justice and Mental Health <br />Collaboration Program grant is to be used for the activities proposed in the grant narrative and <br />approved by the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the required "Planning and Implementation Guide." <br />The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office and Comprehensive Healthcare will work together to ensure that all <br />parties are equal in their involvement and enhance the services as needed. During the duration of this <br />MOU, access to these grant -funded programs and services will be available to all those incarcerated in <br />the Kittitas County Jail and staff involved from all parties. <br />Collaborators commit to: <br />- Dedicate staff time for meetings and consultations regarding the planning and implementation. <br />- Treat shared information as confidential and agree not to disclose shared information to <br />unauthorized entities. <br />- Disclose any conflict of interest that may arise in the course of the planning and <br />implementation. <br />- Protect patients and comply with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and <br />federal requirements and related State law requirements. <br />- Plan, implement, and track the necessary data on prerelease programming and intervention as <br />needed. <br />- Develop methods of improving continuity of treatment/related services upon release from the <br />Jail. <br />- Provide such access and training about working within the correctional setting as is needed to <br />provide services within this unique setting. <br />Governing Structure <br />Each party, either the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office or Comprehensive Healthcare, will follow their own <br />internal chain of command for decision making. When a final decision has to be made regarding the <br />planning and implementation of part of this grant, the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office will have final <br />decision as the grant manager. <br />
