Attachment D <br />WORK PLAN <br />FY 2022 Emergency Performance Grant <br />Sheriff's OfficeKittitas <br />The purpose of EMPG is to assist with the enhancement sustainment and improvement of state, local, and trlbal <br />emergency management programs. Activitaes conducted using EMPG funding should relate di rectly to the five <br />elements of emergency rnanagement: prevention, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation, Washington State <br />does not require a specific number of activities to receive EMpG funding. However,there are required capabilities that <br />must be sustained in order to remain eligible for EMpG funding, including but not li mited to the ability to communicate <br />and warn, educate the public, plan, train, exercise, and be NIMS compliant. The Work Plan delineates the Emergency <br />Management Organization's emergency managernent program planning and priority focus for this grant cycle (to <br />include EMPG and local funds). <br />4.9 Trai <br />rational Coordination <br />New and existing EOC members will <br />be trained in all-hazards disaster <br />response and support <br />functions. Thls will lead to a more <br />effective and efficient response to <br />disasters. <br />County lT professionals will attend <br />NACo Cybersecurity training to help <br />develop strategies and methods for <br />securing county networks against <br />cks. <br />4.8 Facilities <br />Sustaining/Ma intaining <br />WORK PI.ANNED TDENT|F|ED GAP/NEED ANTICIPATED PROJ ECT IMPACT <br />Training for new and existing <br />members of the lncident <br />Management Team and EOC staff. <br />The training will include position <br />specific tralning (Logistic$ <br />Operations, PlO, Planning, lC, etc.) <br />and attendance at conferences such <br />as WSEMA or Partners in Emergency <br />Preparedness. <br />Cybersecurity training for lT members <br />All Hazard training is required to <br />operate an effective EOC. EOC members <br />continue to train, exercise, and improve <br />their positions (COVID Response AAR, <br />MR Cow Canyon Fire) <br />Cybersecurity is a threat in all <br />THIRA/SPR documents throughout the <br />State. The EOC <br />construction will begin in2O22 and the <br />first face of completion wtll be finished <br />in 2023. The funding is for the shell of <br />the bullding and for the equipment for <br />the new facility. Thls building will be <br />the primary EOC for Kittitas County and <br />be able to handle a Type 3 lMT. The <br />EMPG funds will be used to start the <br />process of turning the shell of a bulldinn <br />The intent as to make the new EOC <br />bullding usable by the end of the <br />EMPG grant perlod. <br />DHS.FEMA-EMPG.FY22 Page 36 of 39 Ki$itas County, E23 -1 84
