• Priority Four — County -wide Horizontal Curvature Plan
Roads with horizontal curves have been identified by Kittitas County as high-risk areas susceptible to motor
vehicle accidents. It was noted in previous safety plans the need for Kittitas County to implement a way to
collect horizontal curve data in order to better identify and prioritize roads that are high-risk. Priority four
would create a two-phase project with the first phase being a planning project to collect data and categorize
road segments, allowing for a systematic approach to improve safety County wide. The second phase would
be an action phase where the County uses collected data to implement safety measures on road segments
identified as high-risk in phase 1.
ESTIMATED PROJECT COST.
• Phase 1- $150,000
• Phase 2 - $300,000
