Priority 4: County -wide Horizontal Curvature Plan
Roads that include horizontal curves have been identified as high risk by Kittitas County in both the 2023 safety plan,
as well as past safety plans. To better prevent future fatal and serious injury accidents, Kittitas County would greatly
benefit from future projects that utilizes horizontal curve data to identify roads in need of crash prevention measures.
Through various instruments and equipment to collect data, Kittitas County can implement projects such as advisory
speeds, LED chevrons/arrows, and additional Carsonite safety posts to prevent future fatal and serious injuries on
the road system. Although it has a lower priority than other projects, it is a low-cost proposal that could also reduce
the cost of future projects.
MI
