02/13/2023 MINUTES 2 <br />HR budget and she also wanted to get parameter around spending <br />authority etc., The Board granted permission to move the fund as it <br />should be tied to the position however they directed Staff to work <br />on a policy for the spending authority and purpose. <br /> <br />DIRECTION BALLISTIC SHIELDS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Wachsmith requested the Board approve a request from <br />the Security Committee to purchase ballistic shields for the <br />security desk. He explained that Deputy Horner had obtained grant <br />funding from the Risk Pool for $3,000.00, and suggested the <br />remainder come from ARPA funding at approximately $3,095 plus tax. <br /> <br />The Board approved the request as presented. <br /> <br />PRESS RELEASE SLEEP CENTER COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz presented a Press Release drafted by the City <br />of Ellensburg and asked the Board if they had any questions/concerns <br />they wanted shared with the City prior to publishing. The Board <br />stated they had no objections to the City of Ellensburg publishing <br />the Press Release as presented. <br /> <br />NOISE WAIVER RASMUSEN COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve and authorize a Noise <br />Ordinance Waiver request from Kent & Annette Rasmusen to host an <br />annual family campout event located at 6481 Manastash Road, <br />Ellensburg, WA 98926 from May 26, 2023 – May 28, 2023 until 1:00 <br />a.m., with the condition that they notify neighbors within a 1,000 <br />feet radius of the event, which they have done and directed Staff to <br />notify the Rasmusen’s, KITTCOM and the KCSO. Commissioner Osiadacz <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board determined that for the week of February 13, 2023, they <br />would post the following on their Facebook page: share a link to the <br />City of Ellensburg/County Joint Meeting on 2/9/2023; Closed County <br />Offices on Monday February 20, 2023, and a copy of a Letter that the <br />Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee sent Re: Support for <br />SB5357 to Senator Liz Lovelett. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2023 <br />were determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin <br />meeting earlier on and they will continue to provide updates at <br />future meetings.
