BRIEFING SUMMARY: The Yakima Basin Fish and Wildlife Recovery Board has been organizing a Streamside Landowner Workshop scheduled for February 23rd from 5prn — 7:30pm at the Hal Holmes Center in Ellensburg. • The aim of the workshop is to enable landowners to connect with different organization to ask questions about streamside stewardship and flood risk concerns. • This workshop is a good opportunity to talk directly with Flood Control Zone District rate payers about their concerns and the District Capital Improvement Program. • Staff from the Yakima Basin Fish and Wildlife Recovery Board, City of Ellensburg, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Kittitas County Conservation District, and Mid -Columbia Fisheries have all confirmed that they will be participating in the workshop. BACKGROUND: The Yakima Basin Fish and Wildlife Recovery Board offered to organize a workshop for residents in the greater Ellensburg area. The purpose of the workshop is to connect residents with resources to address flood risk concerns and promote riparian habitat stewardship. This workshop is scheduled for February 23�d from 5pm — 7:30pm at the Hal Holmes Center. There will be a moderated panel discussion and ample time for guests to meet one on one with participating organizations to discuss their questions and concerns. Staff from the Yakima Basin Fish and Wildlife Recovery Board, City of Ellensburg, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Kittitas County Conservation District, and Mid -Columbia Fisheries have all confirmed that they will be participating in the workshop.
