KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM FEBRUARY 13, 2023 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright and Commissioner Laura <br />Osiadacz. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Darren Case, Justin Turnbull, Arden Thomas <br />Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Dan Carlson, Toni Berkshire, Jeremiah <br />Cromie, Jeremy Larson, Jen Wiemer, Community Development Services; <br />Neil Caulkins, Prosecuting Attorney's Office; Bryan Elliott, Brian <br />Carlson, Auditor's Office; 1 member of the public. <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />No Citizens Comments. <br />Chairman Cory Wright requested the removal of item #4 Public Facility <br />Districts in the State of Washington Discussion from this study <br />session agenda. <br />PORTABLE TOILETS AT RYAN THOMPSON PARK <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on Ryan <br />Thompson Park experiencing increased use resulting in a need for <br />portable toilets. Josh Fredrickson requested the Board of County <br />Commissioners to approve seasonal contract for the service. Motion <br />Approved. <br />NEXUS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT <br />Darren Case briefed the Board of County Commissioners on a proposal <br />for services Public Works received from NEXUS for remediation of the <br />Upper County Shop HVAC issues, including improving the insulation of <br />the shop. Darren Case requested direction on moving forward with a <br />contract for services. The Board directed staff to prepare enabling <br />documents for approval - <br />DRONE POLICY <br />Justin Turnbull presented a draft policy of drone use for Public <br />Works surveying drone. Justin Turnbull noted that the drone captures <br />a large scope of data that is not needed in the survey. Neil Caulkins <br />informed that he believes the data not needed in the survey could be <br />discarded. Chairman Cory Wright asked if staff was trained to use the <br />survey drone, Justin Turnbull replied that Public Works has 4 FAA <br />certified operators.
