BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPEED ZONE AND THE PLACEMENT OF SPEED <br />LIMIT SIGNS ON THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF ROAN DRIVE AND DAPPLE <br />GRAY WAY AND THE PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS AT DAPPLE GRAY <br />WAY AND ROAN DRIVE AND AMENDING SECTION 10.08.010 AND <br />SECTION 10.12.010 OF THE KITTITAS COUNTY CODE <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County manages roadway speed limits and designates the <br />placement of Stop and Yields in County Code Title 10; and <br />WHEREAS: Changing a speed limit and designating placement of stop and yields on a <br />County Roadway requires amending Section 10.08.010 and Section <br />10.12.010; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has determined that twenty-five miles -per -hour is an <br />appropriate speed limit for the entire length of Roan Drive and Dapple <br />Gray Way; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has determined that the placement of a stop sign at the <br />intersection of Road Drive and Dapple Gray Way will improve safety at <br />this location for vehicular traffic; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm to hear public testimony regarding <br />the establishment of speed zone and placement of speed limit signs and <br />Stop signs on the above listed roads; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the <br />public, does hereby establish a 25 mile -per -hour speed limit on the entire <br />length of Roan Drive and Dapple Gray Way; and authorizes the <br />placement of Speed Limit signs and Stop signs at the above stated <br />locations and amending Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.010 and <br />Section 10.12.010 as indicated in Exhibit A. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance will become effective upon the <br />installation of the appropriate signage. <br />
