CITY-COUNTYLIBRARYSERVICESAGREEMENT <br />CITY OF KITTITAS <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into on this 20tr day of December 2022 between <br />the City of Kittitas; Library Board of Trustees (hereinafter referred to as the "Board") and <br />Kittita; County (hereinaftir referred to as the "County"); and consented to by the City of <br />Kittitas City Council (hereinafter referred to as "City Council"). <br />WHEREAS' pursuant to RCW 27.12.280,the Board of Kittitas Public Library has <br />the power to make uvailable to Kittitas County residents living outside the city limits of <br />Kittitas the materials of said Library, upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed <br />upon; and <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to contract for library services from the Kittitas <br />Public Library, and the Board is granted the reciprocal power to contract to render such <br />services with the consent of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to assist in providing library services from the <br />Kittitas Public Library for County residents living outside the city limits ofKittitas; <br />NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br />I Services. The usual public library services provided by the Kittitas Public Library <br />will be provided to Kittitas County patrons who come to said Library to use its <br />facilities in accordance with the rules, regulations and operating policies and <br />procedures applicable at any given time. Assistance in registering for the book <br />borrowing service will be provided for anyone requesting that service when said <br />service is regularly available for registered patrons of the library so long as the <br />person making the request lives in Kittitas County. <br />Compensation. Kittitas County shall pay directly to the City the sum of $9,500.00 <br />as a subsidy to the City for Library services provided annually to unincorporated <br />Corurty residents from January I through December 31,2023. Payment shall be <br />made on a quarterly basis on the last day of January, April, July, and October of <br />2023. <br />Records. The following statistics shall be compiled and maintained by the <br />Kittitas Public Library and reported to the Kittitas County Board of <br />Commissioners annually : <br />(a) Statistics on library materials circulation comparative to the previous <br />years' circulation figures. <br />(b) Comparative statistics reflecting the services received by residents of <br />unincorporated Kittitas County to the total services provided by the <br />Library. <br />2. <br />3
