Response 2.1 *1,'!hy would toLrists travel lo Kiililas Corinly io attend your evenUacliuitylfacility? <br />The Museurr seeks funding to support advertising for marketing and production of a <br />new scavenger hunt activity that will connect Kittrtas County history with a wider <br />audtence, in addition to raising awareness of new arrd expanded business <br />padnerships. <br />Visiiors traveling in and lo Kittitas County often find themselves interested in ihe <br />history of the comnrunity they are visiting. The Kittitas County Historical Museum is <br />dedicated to the collectrng and preservation of our county's history and the display <br />and interpretation of that history, often drawing people from across the world to the <br />facility to explore local history. wheiher as an immediate destination or <br />complimentary destination on a visit to and through Ellensburg. <br />lndividuals may be interested in learning information about local history on a myriad <br />of topics, such as family history and building history. Or they may be interested on <br />specific topics, such as being vehicle enthusiasis or rock and mineral colleciors. <br />Since the Museum is focused on the entirely of Kittitas County history, within 2.333 <br />square miles, lhere is quite a bit of history going back to its geological roots to <br />modern day. <br />Visitors often come through for our exhibits and the items represented in the <br />displays. This new project will showcase these items. and those often not on display <br />in a new and engaging way along with the business histories throughout Kiititas <br />Couniy. This will develop an opportunity to share Kittitas County history through the <br />items related to an area; the stories of the businesses and people through the clues <br />given in videos, promote tlre infonnation to a wider audience than those who can <br />often visit our communitres, museum, and businesses - and build awareness and <br />encouragement to visit for those who are, perhaps, unfamiliar. This project is <br />expected to incorporate an inclusive approach to Kittitas County history. highlighting <br />materials in the collection at the museum and businesses throughout the county. <br />Aspects of Kiititas County history may include topics such as geology, Native <br />American hisiory, and interesting tidbits of local lore and legend. Additionally, those <br />visiting the museum will be encouraged to padicipate and visit locations throughout <br />the County, while brochures will be provided to further encourage visitors and event <br />attendees. <br />2500 rharacier limil
