Pronroie and Enhance Cle Elum's Historic Downtown. One of the avenues <br />that our organization uses to achieve these goals is by foslerirrg successfLrl <br />partnerships and collaborating with others to offer year around events and activities <br />in Cle Elum. <br />Promoting Cle Elum as a historrc and vintage commLlnity is gaining poplrlarity. <br />especially with the number of 'rrintage" retail and new restaurants that are following <br />a this theme jn their d6cor. Our business community is beginning to build a look and <br />feel that is attracttng more visitors. This. accompanied by our events. has impacted <br />the number travelers from 50 miles or farther who are exploring Cle Elum. <br />The Cle Elum Downtown Association encourages tourism arrd overnight stays <br />throughout the year by offering signature annual events such as. pioneer Days. Boo- <br />Elum. and Christmas in Cle Elunr. ln adcliiion. vye have worked to create smaller <br />events or acijvities to increase tourism to our contmunity. <br />For 2022. our plans are to offer our signature events. Pioneer Days. Boo-Elum. and <br />christmas in cle Elum. For all events. we are adding to the level of experiences that <br />visitors might engage in. We are doing this lo encourage greaier partjcipation and <br />longer stays in Cle Elum. Pioneer Days will continue to be a multiday event that <br />occurs at multiple locations. For the downtown location. we will be adding back the <br />Artisan and craft vendor rnarket. Kids Zone. and new Retail Activities. Boo-Elunr will <br />include pre-Halloween events to encourage tourists dovvntown. We anticipate our <br />new scarecrow contest that is starting this year will become a draw as these unique <br />characters gain popularity. Christmas in Cle Elunr will continue to span from Snrall <br />Business I Shop Small Day (last Sai in Nov) through ihree weekencjs in Decemher <br />lo encourage visitors downtown and overnight siays for holiday shopping and <br />festivities. <br />We are finding that a nrarket style approach to retail activities works well, lt draws <br />shoppers who are visiting and encourages new visitors to our downiown. Our <br />rnarkeis also enhance the shopping experience by adding pop-r-rp artists in stores. <br />vendors on the sidewalk. music, and announce food and beverage specials being <br />offered. Our Mother's Day Market and the Public Market will continue.
