CenterFuse completed a staffing study in September 2022. The staffing study was one
of the activities listed in our 2022 workplan. CenterFuse reached out to CWU to see if
any College of Business faculty had the time/interest in completing the staffing study
first. They did not, but they did recommend two organizations who do have the skill and
may have interest in working on the study. CenterFuse identified a third organization
with experience in performing staffing studies, then asked all three to respond to an RFI
After evaluating those responses, CenterFuse selected FIT HR as the professional
consultant.
We asked FIT HR to provide
(1) an assessment of the organizations current capacity,
(2) a forecast of the staffing requirements,
(3) identify staffing gaps and talent strategies to fill the gaps,
(4) recommend an action plan
Methodology:
To assess the organization and respond with advisement, the process was to identify,
assess and discuss with the Executive Director and members of the Board:
1. Goals are being achieved but not to a rate to fulfill the overall
organizational objectives. The major obstacle has been operating as an organization of
one person.
The single employee agreement is for the person to work a 30 -hour work week, and be
paid accordingly to that schedule, but the reality is the person consistently exceeds 30
hours by an average of 5 additional hours per week. Working 35 hours per week by
many organization standards equates to working 'Full Time' and have accompanying
benefits.
For the organization to achieve its broad goals of recruiting businesses, ensuring
organizational effectiveness, marketing and building local capacity and opportunity,
there must be more inputs to see desired outputs.
Workforce Forecast:
2023: To achieve organizational goals for 2023, and in recognition of limited funding,
the recommendation is to hire one (1) additional staff member in a supporting role to the
