While a need for PW inspection of private development proposals (civil engineering <br />elements) is known, the impacts to current staffing levels has not been evaluated. PW's <br />current permit fee schedule does not contemplate inspection of private development <br />proposals (civil engineering elements). The demand for service and workload impacts <br />can be evaluated and results brought back to the Board for future consideration. If <br />demand warrants and a funding proposal sufficiently offsets cost, PW will likely hire an <br />engineering technician and dedicate the position to private development inspection <br />services. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />Workload forecast and impacts on existing staffing levels will be conducted by PW <br />Administration and funded by 2023 approved PW Administrative budget. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />None. <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Public Works "Work Session Staff Report", 2023 <br />
