WashingtonStateParks&RecreationCommissionoTime,salaries,benefitsandwagesforofficersordeputieswhopossessaWashingtonStatePeaceOfficersCertification,arefullycommissionedtoenforcethelawsofWashingtonState,andwhohavenotcompletedaBMLEcourseisacceptableONLYwhenworkingwithanRBStrainedofficerANDwhentheagencyhasawritten'two-officer'policyforofficersonmarinepatrolforthepurposeofofficersafety.•RBSEDUCATIONANDINSTRUCTIONProvidinginstructorsfortheAdventuresinBoatingcoursethatqualifiesgraduatesfortherequiredmandatoryboatereducationcard.Costsmayincludeclassroomsupplies,lightrefreshments,othergoodsandservicesnecessarytopromoteandteachclasses,andofficersalaries,benefitsandwages.OfficersalarieswillonlybereimbursedforthoseofficerswhohavesuccessfullycompletedaStateParksAdventuresinBoatingInstructorTrainingclassandarelistedonourfiles.Lifejackets(USCGapprovedonly)forthestateAdventuresinBoatingcourseandotherRBSpresentations,suchas:throwringsorcushionsforloanersandthecosttoprintonlytheagency'snameorRBSsafetymessages.•RBSTRAININGGrantorVRFfundscanbeusedtopayforfull-timeandreserveofficerswhoarefullycommissionedtoenforcethelawsoftheStateofWashingtontoattendtrainingprovidedbytheBoatingProgramorcoursesapprovedbytheBoatingProgram.Note:ApprovalfromStateParksismandatoryifanofficerordeputyisapplyingforanon-WashingtonRBScourse.Examplesofapprovedcoursesinclude:oMLEInstructorMeetingoBasicMarineLawEnforcement/BoatCrewMemberorequivalent(BMLE)oBoatOperatorSearchandRescue(BOSAR)oBoatingUndertheInfluence--Basic(BUI-Basic)oBoatingUndertheInfluence-Advanced(BUI-Adv)oPersonalWatercraftforLawEnforcement(PWCLE)oEnhancedVesselOperatorCourse(EVOC)oFallMarineLawEnforcementConferenceoBoatingAccidentinvestigation-Level1oOfficerWaterSurvivaloBoaterEducationInstructorTraining(BEIT)oDesignatedEducationOfficerTraining(DEOT)oAdventuresinBoatingInstructorTrainingPage4of9
