Chair Osiadacz stated <br />that the county is being very fair with the discounts and the taxpayers shouldn't be expected to <br />shoulder that much of the cost. The board supports the change to the discount. <br />4. Self Promoted Events Business <br />" Fair Board Updates The fair board is gearing up for the grounds 1001h anniversary. <br />* Patriot Nights Under the Lights Updates Per Kady, there may be 2 headlining acts this <br />year, offers are out to both artists. Unfortunately the first headliner declined, she's now opening for <br />Shania Twain. The stage will be moved back to its 2019 placement to improve ingress and egress as <br />well as security controls for the event. <br />5. Sponsor Business — none <br />6. Other Business - Per Kady, a community member had stated that he's noticed an increase in <br />traffic since the Alder paving during the John Wayne Trail Improvement project and is looking for <br />possible solutions to slow/reduce the traffic in the area. Commissioner Wachsmith stated he met with <br />several of the residents in the area on 12/14/22. He updated them on Shady Brook and the Bowling <br />Alley as well as discussed, the traffic. Per Commissioner Wachsmith, Kady should not need to do a <br />follow-up letter. <br />At 9:33am, Vice -Chair Wright announced the Board would recess into Executive Session for <br />10 minutes to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the <br />performance of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by a <br />governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to be generally applied <br />within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects <br />to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual employee or class of employees, or <br />discharging or disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the <br />public.
