KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />2022 AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 20, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Distressed <br />County Sales and Use Tax Funding for 2023 and Direct <br />Staff Prepare Public Facility Grant Agreements for 2023 <br />Award Recipients <br />BACKGROUND: The Council of Governments (COG) met on November 16, <br />2022, to review 2023 Public Facility Grant applications for <br />funding consideration. After reviewing the five (5) <br />applications received COG is recommending the following <br />applicants for 2023 funding amounts while preserving a <br />reserve of $500,000 for future planning based on the <br />development of a planning report by TIP Strategies: <br />Ellensburg Business Development Authority dba <br />CenterFuse ($140,800); Kittitas County Chamber of <br />Commerce ($153,600); Snoqualmie Pass Utility District <br />($216,000); City of Cle Elum ($605,347) and the City of <br />Kittitas ($380,000). <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to Approve and Sign the Resolution to Award the <br />Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Funding for 2023 as <br />recommended by the Conference of Governments and <br />direct staff prepare Public Facility Grant Agreements for <br />2023 Award Recipients. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Letter of Recommendation. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
