3. Provide a description of the implementation of each recommendation or action item in
the action plan or area analysis report, including a statement on how the project was
implemented or not implemented during the previous year:
Please see the attached report, which provides the description for each of the County-
Wide and unincorporated Kittitas County Mitigation lnitiatives.
4. Discuss why any objectives were not reached or why implementation is behind
schedule:
lmplementation of the plan is generally on schedule. Last year the Flood Control Zone
District (FCZD) noted that staffing capacity is a limitation for advancing some flood-
specific projects identified in the plan. A hydrology and hydraulics EIT was hired, who
has taken the lead on expanding the stream monitoring program and conducting an
assessment of past flood damages to public infrastructure. To date, however, the
steering committee has not been maintained to monitor the progress of the hazard
mitigation plan, provide technical assistance to planning partners and oversee the
update of the plan as necessary. This steering committee should be reconvened in
2023.
5. What are the recommendations for new projects or revised recommendations?
To prepare for S-year update which needs to be adopted by September 3,2024,hhe
steering committee should be reconvened in 2023 to consider new projects and revised
recommendations. This steering commiftee should consider amendments made to the
Community Wildlife Protection Plan (October 4,2022) and the Easton Reach Flood
Hazard Study currently underway.
