KITTITAS COUNTY <br />FLOOD CONTROI- ZONE DIST RICT <br />NOTICE OF'AVAILABILITY OF SERVICE TO PROVIDE MAP <br />INFORMATION FOR THE NATIONAL FLOOD II{SURANCE <br />PROGRAM <br />The Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District has the responsibility of administering the <br />National Flood lnsurance Program in unincorporated Kittitas County. The Flood Control ZoneDistrict also provides flood map information services: telling inquirers if property is within a <br />Special Flood Hazard Area (SFFIA), which flood zone it is in, and the base flood elevation. <br />The following information is available upon request: <br />o Whether a properly is in or out of the SFHA as shown on the current Flood Insurance <br />Rate Map (FIRM), including the following information: the FIRM zone andbase flood <br />elevation or depth, if available; the Community Number, panelNumber and Suffix; the <br />date of the FIRMS's Index;the elevation datum.o Whether a properfy is in the floodway. <br />o Known flood problems that are not shown on the FIRM, such as dam failure inundation <br />areas or drainage problems. <br />o The depth of expected flooding (not available in all areas).o Other flood relatedhazards, such as information relating to ice jams or erosion.o Historical flood information and photos. <br />o Information about areas that should be protected, such as wetlands or critical habitat.o Handouts on the National Flood Insurance program. <br />.
