KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: November 17, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's
Signature on a letter to amend an Interlocal Agreement
between Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District and
Kittitas Conservation District.
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas Conservation District is finalizing designs for
the Whiskey Creek Siphon Project. More work was
required than expected to address concerns identified by the
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and
Ellensburg Water Company. These concerns in
necessitating an increase in budget. In order to complete
the work within this calendar year, we are proposing to
change the scope of work to remove the geologic
investigation. This work will instead occur closer to
construction. With the increase in costs and the reduced
scope, and additional $5,000 is required to complete the
project. The proposed amendment would increase the
amount payable from $82,865 to $87,865. There is
sufficient funding in the Flood Control Fund to cover this
costincrease.
INTERACTION: Public Works; Kittitas Conservation District
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's Signature
on Letter Amending an Interlocal Agreement between the
Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District and City of
Ellensburg.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Interlocal Agreement Amendment Letter
LEAD STAFF: Arden Thomas, Water Resource Program Manager.
