KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />In -Person <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM October 24, 2022 <br />Board Members Present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Mark Cook, Arden Thomas, Rebecca Cruse, Joshua Fredrickson, <br />Public Works; Mitch Long, Kittitas Conservation Trust. <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />No Comments <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR KITTITAS CONSERVATION <br />TRUST <br />Arden Thomas, Water Resource Manager, briefed the Board of County <br />Commissioners on the complexity of restoring Gold Creek for Bull <br />Trout habitat, address annual dewatering, and erosion. Arden Thomas <br />requested the Board of County Commissioners signature on a letter of <br />support of Kittitas Conservation Trusts' efforts to secure grant <br />funding. Mitch Long, Executive Director of Kittitas Conservation <br />Trust, added that the organization has been working for 10 years to <br />design and implement a project for Gold Creek to address the causes <br />of dewatering. Vice -Chairman Cory Wright motioned to approve Board <br />support. Commissioner Brett Wachsmith seconded the motion. Motion <br />approved. <br />FUTURE OF FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />Arden Thomas provided the history of the Flood Control Zone District <br />and creation of the Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee. <br />Arden Thomas stated that the committee has fulfilled the purpose and <br />staff recommends the committee disband. The Board of County <br />Commissioners directed staff to bring forward a Resolution for <br />approval to disband the committee. <br />AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) TRANSITION PLAN <br />Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer, briefed the Board of County <br />Commissioners on the Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan_ <br />Josh Fredrickson stated that staff has worked to identify areas in <br />the County right-of-way in need of improvements.
