Engineer estimates for RM
1-2 were developed in 2017, which included inflation prices for 2020. An additional 20% for inflation
was added for 2024 implementation prices, totaling $5,178,000. For RM 2-3, similar restoration actions
are planned, but a helicopter will be utilized to minimize on -the -ground disturbances and to deliver logs
to rugged, hard to access areas. RM 2-3 implementation estimates are $7,000,000. All three options for
Gold Creek Pond have similar estimated costs for implementation. Up to 900,000 cubic yards of fill will
be needed for the full fill design, which costs approximately $10/cu yd. The total implementation
estimate for Gold Creek Pond is $11,000,000. For Hell's Pond, up to 17,600 cu yds of fill will be needed
and estimated implementation costs are $1,760,000.
Implementation Funding Required
RM 1-2 implementation
Implementation Estimate
$5,178,000
RM 2-3 Implementation
Implementation Estimate
$7,000,000
Gold Creek Pond Filling
Implementation Estimate
$11,000,000
Hell's Pond Filling
Implementation Estimate
$1,760,000
Estimated Implementation Total $24,938,000
The Bureau of Reclamation (BoR) has given a verbal commitment of $500,000 for implementation costs
for the Gold Creek Restoration Project via the Yakima River Basin Water Enhancement Project, but the
funding has not yet been secured.
