<br /> <br /> <br />Community Wildfire Protection Plan 60 September 2018 <br />Table 7 <br />Kittitas County Wildfire Resilience and Risk Reduction Roles <br />Stakeholder Group Overview of Roles <br />City, County, and Local Partners <br />Elected Officials <br />• Board of County Commissioners has jurisdiction and power to represent the county and has care of the <br />county property, management, and business concerns. <br />• Kittitas County Sheriff is an elected position that has responsibility of the enforcement of state and county <br />laws and statutes. <br />• The Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Roslyn city councils and mayors are elected to represent citizens of those <br />areas. <br />Kittitas County Community and Planning <br />Services <br />• Responsible for developing and administering plans and regulations, including zoning and subdivision, <br />growth policy, regional plans, and land use code enforcement <br />• Responsible for fire life safety in Kittitas County administered through the Kittitas County Fire Marshal's <br />office <br />Fire Departments and Fire Districts • Responsible for community response and protection services for areas across Kittitas County <br />Kittitas County Fire Chiefs Association <br />• Nonprofit association with members from city, county, rural, state, and federal agencies including fire <br />departments and districts, Kittitas County Emergency Management, DNR, USFS, and other Fire District <br />organizations <br />• Coordinates fire prevention and response activities <br />Kittitas County Emergency Management • Coordinates emergency response components in the geographical area of Kittitas County <br />Kittitas County Health Department • Responsible for air quality monitoring <br />Kittitas County residents, landowners, and <br />community councils <br />• Responsible for personal property and engaging in community projects <br />• Community councils participate in planning process by facilitating communication between communities <br />and local government. <br />• Includes private landowners such as citizens and entities with large landholdings (e.g., TNC) <br />Nongovernmental Stakeholders <br />• Includes stakeholders from Central Washington Homebuilders Association, realtors, and other industry <br />professionals <br />• Volunteer organizations, KCCD, local chapters of Chamber of Commerce, utilities, university partners, and <br />other businesses <br />Kittitas County Fire Adapted Communities <br />Coalition <br />• Includes federal, state, and local ownership committed to improving landscape and community resiliency for <br />all who live, work, and play in Kittitas County
