Board of Health Minutes <br />August 18, 2022 <br />2 of 2 <br />• Strategic Plan mid-cycle review update- this is a 5 -year plan, and the department is doing a mid-cycle <br />review/update to get department through the next 2 years. <br />• The department is currently doing a Community Health Assessment (CHA). This is a year-long process and <br />being led by Lianne Bradshaw. The department will give an update on this process at the September BOH. <br />• The Foundational Public Health Services expansion adds an additional $400,000.00 for the next budget year. <br />• Next month the department will update on the CHA from Lianne Bradshaw and an update on the COVID- <br />19 Health Equity Coalition. <br />Health Officer Update <br />Dr. Mark Larson gave a brief update on COVID-19 and noted that school guidance is out. The department will be <br />working with schools to review this guidance. <br />Dr. Larson gave a presentation on Monkey Pox (MPV). The health department currently has some vaccine and <br />medication for treatment distributed from the state. Dr. Larson discussed who would be currently eligible for <br />vaccine based on exposure risks. Dr. Larson also reviewed the history and current numbers in the country and <br />state. There will be future updates on Monkey Pox (MPV). <br />Other Business <br />Draft of 2023 Preliminary Budget Review and Discussion <br />Chelsey Loeffers reviewed the 2023 preliminary budget overview. Ms. Loeffers noted that fees will change, but no <br />significant change. Ms. Loeffers briefly reviewed the following: <br />• Budget Breakdown narrative for 2023 <br />• Covid-19 response and funding <br />Organizational chart as of June 2022 and proposed organizational chart for 2023 <br />2023 preliminary budget details and anticipated expenses <br />Draft of 2023 Environmental Health Fees and Timeline Discussion <br />Chelsey Loeffers reviewed the 2022 vs 2023 fee comparison. Ms. Loeffers briefly looked over fees with the board <br />and noted increases and decreases based on time data collected. The timeline for the review process and adoption <br />of the 2023 fee schedule was reviewed. Board had no questions or concerns at this time. <br />Board of Health Member Updates <br />• Dr. Asriel informed board that Overdose Awareness Day is August 30, 2022. <br />• Dede Utley stated that healthcare is working beyond capacity.
