Public Health Study Session <br />July 27, 2022 <br />10:00 AM <br />Commissioner’s Conference Room <br />Attendees <br />Laura Osiadacz, Brett Wachsmith, Chelsey Loeffers, Erin Moore, Candi Blackford <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Citizen Comment (1 minute time limit)- no members of the public present <br />Department Business <br />• Director Loeffers provided an update on Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS) funding: <br />o KCPHD is receiving 400k additional from last year’s allocation- funding will be included in <br />next Con-Con amendment <br />o Includes funds that will be used for mental health work <br />o Air Quality program creation <br />o Communicable Disease division <br /> <br />• Director Loeffers also provided an update about the Health Districting research. Kaitlyn Reddick <br />will be contracting with KCPHD in August to start a financial review to explore the feasibility of <br />Health District vs. Health Department. <br /> <br />• Strategic Planning and Community Health Assessment Update <br />o Director Loeffers reported that we started a mid-cycle Strategic Plan update. Staff is <br />conducting a prioritization exercise with the KCPHD leadership/management team to <br />determine goals for the update <br />o Chelsey updated that the Community Health Assessment was working through the <br />Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) process to conduct the <br />Community Health Assessment. The first Steering Committee meeting will be held on <br />July 29th. <br />• Health Officer Backup Coverage <br />o The backup Health Officer coverage contract needs to be renewed and staff will propose <br />that update to that contract at a future meeting. <br />• WSALPHO BOH Orientation Opportunity <br />o Director Loeffers notified the BOCC that there was an opportunity for the BOH members <br />to attend a Board of Health orientation conference later this month. <br /> <br />Other Business <br />• BOH video recordings <br />o Staff will provide update about Board of Health Video recordings at a future meeting.
