BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTYOF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTIONNO.2022 - <br />VACATING A PORTIONOF STRANDE ROAD <br />WHEREAS:Washington State contemplates the need for County's to vacate roads and rights of way at <br />Revised Code of Washington (RCW)Chapter 36.87;and <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County Code (KCC)mirrors the requirements for road and right-of-way vacation <br />at KCC 12.22.040;and <br />WHEREAS:The Department of Public Works received a request to vacate portion of Strande Road <br />rights-of-way;and <br />WHEREAS:Public Works has completed the required vacation report (RCW 36.87.040)and KCC <br />12.22.040;and <br />WHEREAS:The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners did hold the required public hearing <br />considering the right-of-way vacation request on May 3,2022,and continued September <br />20,2022;and <br />WHEREAS:Affected property owners and Washington State Department of Natural Resources are <br />developing the necessary easements to maintain access to private property and easements <br />have not yet been recorded. <br />NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners,in the best interest <br />of the public,does hereby authorize the vacation of Strande Road from mile post 2.66 to the end of the <br />County Road and directs the County Engineer to update (as pertinent)the County Road Log and other <br />documents associated with the road vacation;and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that vacation of Strande Road from mile post 2.66 to the end of the <br />County Road be made effective upon recording of required easements and documentation of such <br />provided to County Department of Public Works. <br />DATED this 20*day of September 2022,at Ellensburg,Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY,WASHINGTON <br />Laura Osiadacz,Chairman <br />Attest: <br />O Clerk of the Board-Julie Kjorsvik <br />Cory Wright,Vice-Chairman <br />O Deputy Clerk of the Board-Mandy Buchholz <br />Brett Wachsmith,Commissioner
